Subaru Forester

I needed to convince car buyers throughout Asia that Subaru Forester was the unbeatable choice for a family SUV. To do this, I wrote two television commercials, “Dream Extraordinary” and “No Distance Too Far” to show off Forester’s features while emphasizing a fun, family focused narrative. Since the commercials aired in multiple countries, I was faced with a unique challenge. Each spot needed to sell the Forester without using any speech or subtitles. The result? Both commercials received acclaim, earning awards and securing their spots as some of the most watched advertisements in Subaru Asia's history - all without any spoken dialogue.

From ideation and writing, to storyboards, to the selection of 3D models, I provided oversight and direction on every step of "Dream Extraordinary." This was the first television commercial from Subaru to use CGI, and the results paid off. To date, there are more than 1 million views of the commercial on YouTube. The spot was also awarded a Platinum Hermes Creative Award and a Bronze American Advertising Award.

Inspired by one of my childhood memories, "No Distance too Far" highlights the benefits and features of the Forester by tapping into the family-oriented culture of Southeast Asia. Subaru Asia’s president famously loves and collects stuffed animals, so as a personal touch, I gave his beloved giraffe a starring role. The spot was awarded a Gold Hermes Creative Award.
